Dr. Bimal Patel

Dr. Bimal Patel is a native Houstonian and loves the diversity of this great city! Being in tune with the latest in eye care technology and fashion eyewear trends, Dr. Patel provides only the best for his community and patients. He specializes in primary care and the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases. Through his experience at one of the country’s top refractive surgery centers, Dr. Patel has honed his skills in LASIK management and specialty contact lenses. He is also one of the few doctors in the Houston area certified to fit Orthokeratology contact lenses, which correct your vision while you sleep. 

Dr. Patel received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Texas-Austin and his Doctor of Optometry from the University Of Houston College Of Optometry, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. While in school, he was President of the Student Texas Optometry Association (TOA) and currently serves on the New Grad Task Force for the TOA. He completed a specialty externship at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA and private practice in Austin, TX.

He is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and Texas Optometric Association. In his leisure time, Dr. Patel enjoys playing tennis, attending the theater and traveling. He is also involved in community outreach programs for the Montrose neighborhood and contributes his time and creativity to the Midtown Management District.


Dr. Shelby Gross

Dr. Shelby Gross received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at Tulane University, and her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Houston College of Optometry, graduating Magna Cum Laude from both insitutions. After graduation, she completed a residency at the VA Portland Health Care System in Portland, Oregon, where she specialized in primary eye care, treatment and management of ocular disease, and low vision. She is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist and enjoys practicing medical optometry as well as fitting and styling glasses and contact lenses. 

Dr. Gross is a native Houstonian and is enjoying being back in her diverse and energetic hometown. In her free time, she enjoys biking in Hermann Park, trying new restaurants around the city, music, and travelling.
